SUV Tire Recall

Friday, July 4th, 2008

Over 4,700 SUV tires have been recalled by American Pacific Industries, Inc. The models affected by the recall include all Spector Advanta SUV Rowl Radial Light Truck Tires that were manufactured between February 3 and March 1, 2008. The tire size is P255/70R16 109S.

The tires are being recalled due to a faulty portion of the tire bead area. The area is protected by a thin area of rubber that may allow a loss of air pressure. If a loss of air pressure occurs during vehicle operation, the driver may loose control of the vehicle, resulting in a car wreck. This is especially likely if the tires are installed on an SUV, which is at a high risk for rollover.

The recall will begin in July, 2008. American Pacific Industries, Inc. will replace the defective tires for free.

Car Wreck Demonstrates Danger Posed to Motorcyclists

Wednesday, July 2nd, 2008

On June 28, 2008, a car wreck occurred in Florida that injured ten motorcyclists and resulted in twelve people being sent to area hospitals. Four motorcyclists were seriously injured and needed to be air lifted to a Florida medical center.

The car wreck was caused by a car that drifted into oncoming traffic, causing it to collide with the motorcyclists.

Motorcyclists are at a higher risk for injury during a car wreck. This is because they do not have the protection that is provided by crashworthy features in a vehicle. In addition, because of a combination of the smaller scale of a motorcycle and driver distraction, many drivers are not aware of their presence.

Car wreck attorneys are helping those who have been seriously injured because of car wrecks caused by negligence.

Baby Trend Recalls Child Safety Seats

Saturday, June 28th, 2008

On June 23, 2008, Baby Trend issued a recall of over 3,500 Rigid Latch-Loc Base car seats. The models affected by the recall are as follows: 6400, 6439, 6448, 6481, and 6484.

The recall was issued due to the use of inadequate steel. The steel was used on the locking mechanism, causing the mechanism to crack and fail. If failure occurs during a severe car wreck, the safety seat may detach from the base, causing severe injuries to the child.

If a child is not properly protected during a car wreck, they may suffer severely debilitating, life-long injuries, such as paralysis and limb loss. In more extreme instances, death may result.

Baby Trend will replace the defective child safety seat base for free.

Car wreck attorneys are working on cases in which severe injuries have resulted due to the negligence of manufacturers.
