A woman has been indicted by a Texas grand jury for manslaughter and injury to a child.
Lynda Mescher was in a fatal accident in January in which her pickup rolled over and killed an 11 year old girl.
Mescher, the owner of a horse-riding ranch in Burnet County, was taking some kids on a weekend camping trip. Brianna Plehn and five other children were in the bed of the pickup when it rolled over near Lake Travis. Brianna was pronounced dead at the scene.
It is illegal in Texas to allow children under the age of 18 to ride in the bed of a pickup. Mescher and the other children were taken to a local hospital. There is no evidence that shows that Mescher was intoxicated or speeding at the time of the wreck.
