Massive General Motors recall
A previous investigation concerning fires in General Motors vehicles has been announced as a full recall of 857,735 vehicles due to a problem in the windshield wiper system.
A potential short-circuiting in the system may cause problems with other electrical features of the vehicles, creating unpleasant odors or even smoke, and increasing the fire risk.
The car recall involves 2007-2008 model years of the following vehicles:
• Chevrolet Silverado
• Chevrolet Tahoe
• Chevrolet Avalanche
• Chevrolet Suburban
• Cadillac Escalade
• Cadillac Escalade ESV
• Cadillac Escalade EXT
• GMC Acadia
• GMC Sierra
• GMC Yukon
• GMC Yukon XL
• Saturn Outlook
The recall also involves the 2006-2008 Hummer h2, Cadillac DTS, and Buick Lucerne and the 2008 Buick Enclave.
GM will fix the electrical problem in all affected vehicles at no charge.
