A man in New York was sentenced to 2-4 years in prison after being found guilty of criminally negligent homicide and fleeing the scene. The man had been driving late one evening when he lost control of the car and it rolled over, ejecting his passenger. Reports say he then got out of the car, looked at his passenger on the ground, and then fled the scene leaving him to die.
Police recovered the driver’s license of the man at the site and a witness who saw the crash later confirmed seeing the man flee the scene. The next day, the driver surrendered himself to the police.
