Vehicle Recalls
Vehicle recalls are important for many reasons. First, it means that the automaker made a serious mistake in their production, whether it be with faulty parts, design defects, or labor/production errors. But did you know that automobiles are not the only things recalled? Many children’s safety seats are recalled for various reasons, tires are recalled, and even school buses are recalled. A simple search of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) website (http://www.recalls.gov/nhtsa.html) can show you if, when, and why your vehicle was recalled and what you can do.
On that site there is also a link to report defects or unsafe equiptment. If safety related reports (of any number) are filed about a specific problem and the NHTSA determines that a safety related trend exists, the manufacturer must recall the product with no cost to the owner.
To protect yourself and your loved ones, keep up to date on the latest vehicle recalls. If you or someone you know is injured in an accident involving a recalled vechicle, consult an attorney at Cappolino Dodd Krebs LLP at 1-800-460-0606 immediately.
